Alternative History

When was 2012?

Alternative HistoryHas history been rewritten to cover up a catastrophic disaster in the last 600 to 900 years? Joe Romanski looks at the evidence which challenges the established view of history and presents massive evidence of forgery.

History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon.” -- Napoleon Bonaparte (1769 – 1821) after the Battle of Waterloo 18th June 1815.

It’s been a few years now: rumor has it that in 2012 the world will end – to be more precise - on the 21st December. Generated by esoteric people of all walks of life, the word has spread far and wide, and if some lack conviction then they do know, however, that - should we not perish - we must at least be prepared to accept that the planet Earth shall be duly churned and rendered hors de combat. Depending upon who you believe, this shall preferably take place either by a pole shift or a "photon beam or synchronisation", or due to the mysterious Planet X, or because of any other event of similar impact. More optimistic souls interpret the disaster as a rise of mankind towards higher spiritual spheres, and sometimes also mention the activation of additional strands of DNA.

Yet how reliable is the date, and what if the disaster has not to come, but already belongs to the past?

This, at least, is the opinion of most of the members of a small, highly diverse, internationally oriented scene of researchers across different disciplines, who have been trying, for several decades, to revise the established view of history. Should their findings prove to be correct - and there is evidence that they are – this would provoke nothing less than a Copernican Revolution of the self-image of humanity. The core message of the most radical representatives of the so-called chronology criticism is as follows: the entire Western-European history, including Egyptian and Near Eastern history - being older than 650 years - has more or less to be regarded as fiction (including of course the "stories" of the rest of world).

History from the mid-14th Century (ie. at the time of the "plague" of 1348) until about the beginning of the 18th Century is true in terms of major events (Columbus, Luther, Gutenberg, etc.), however, the dates of many of these events need correction. It was not until the mid-18th Century, ie. since 250 to perhaps 300 years, that the dates in the history books became relatively reliable.

The great campaign

What is all this? Does this mean that all the Roman emperors, generals and senators, have never existed? Are Antony and Cleopatra just an invention, along with the ancient Greeks like Plato and Homer, Archimedes, and all the other heralds of philosophy and poetry? And what about Alexander the Great, or the even greater Franco-German Charlemagne, who was supposedly crowned Emperor in Aachen in the year 800? Not to mention our spiritual superheroes Buddha, Jesus and Mohammed! Is it possible that they might just belong in the realms of fancy?

"Impossible," all well-educated citizens blurt. After all, there is not only so much obvious, clear evidence, what’s more - the radiocarbon method is a scientifically objective dating tool. How come then?

By means of the "Great Campaign" - says Uwe Topper, who is a founding member of the Society for the Reconstruction of Human and Natural History "(GRMNG, now Society for Interdisciplinary Studies - SIS) and one of the contemporary pioneers of chronology criticism. The term originates actually from the German diplomacist Wilhelm Kammeier (1889 - 1959) and stands for the focused and well-coordinated invention of history throughout the time of the Renaissance, initiated and practised mainly in some monastery parlours in Italy (e.g. in Monte Cassino), Germany (e.g. in the Hersfeld Abbey) and in France. (1)

But why should Christian monks, want to invent a "phantom time" (Hans-Ulrich Niemitz)?

There is definitely no consensus for the correct answer amongst the chronology critics, and indeed the nuances of the scene are manifold and cannot all be mentioned here. One scenario out of many goes as follows: once the mega-catastrophe, caused worldwide by extra-terrestrial forces, had wiped out the majority of mankind, it was necessary to suppress this event to enable the continuation of the civilisation process – a yarn one of the pioneers of the Catastrophists; the Russian Immanuel Velikovsky (1895 - 1979) spun already some 50 years ago. (2) By inventing a phantom time, the ruling elite - significantly represented by the church as well as by clerical organisations emerging from it at the time - exploited the basic human need for security and continuity and fulfilled it thus. At the same time it served its own needs. One of the most famous examples is the long known false document, the so-called "Donation of Constantine" through which the clergy later swindled out part of Rome’s territory. (3) Today it is the Vatican State.

The “Great Campaign” was, at the same time, also part of a struggle for supremacy on the religion front. Thus the three or four major religions currently dominating our minds, probably came into being - more or less simultaneously - during an "incubation period" (Egon Friedell) about 600 to a maximum of 900 years ago.(4) One proof of this, amongst many others, is the example of evidence brought to Islamic science provided by the so-called "Saarbrücker Schule" – it claims that most of the Koran basically originated from early Christian texts and songs. Consequently, the existence of the prophet Mohammed is raised to question. According to the Islamic scholars Karl Heinz Ohlig and Gerd R. Puin, "Muhammadun" is simply the Syro-Aramaic term for Jesus Christ being an honorary denomination bestowed upon "the chosen one."(5) The Professor of Philosophy (Technische Hochschule Karlsruhe) Arthur Drews proved, already in1909, that Jesus may never have ever been a historical figure - thus causing quite a stir in the academic world. (6)

This similarly holds true for Buddhism, as was proved by the Danish-born Christian Lindtner - likewise a professor of philosophy. According to him "a comparison shows that in the four Gospels, no person, no place nor event exists that is not already found in Buddhist texts." (7) For our consideration it is irrelevant which writings are actually the oldest, whereas philological and linguistic studies actually indicate that Sanskrit (Buddhism originated in India) may be perceived as a kind of protolanguage. According to Hindu myths the language was introduced at some point, several thousand years ago, by the mysterious, light-skinned, "pure" Aryas from northern India. It is however also possible, that these Aryans actually spoke ancient Hebrew.

Ancient knowledge

Despite the Great Campaign, knowledge of the disaster, as well as awareness of the fact that history may have been rewritten, has long remained vivid in the collective consciousness - as demonstrated by many prominent figures. Isaac Newton (1643-1729) was one of the most famous ones, who demanded to shorten Greek history by 530 or 300 years, and Egyptian history by 1,800 years. (8) Though his claim was solely motivated by religious beliefs, he is regarded by many chronology critics as the spiritual father of their discipline.

Jean Hardouin (1646 - 1729) a French Jesuit - at least as famous as the English universal genius of the time - had a great reputation as a philologist, archaeologist, historian and theologian throughout Europe. His claim - that the entire bulk of "ancient" sources, including all art, stone inscriptions, coins and documents, with the exception of only a very few, were forgeries from the 13th Century - was the cause of much commotion and disputes among his colleagues at the time. This discussion was pursued by Voltaire (1694 - 1778) who, for example, raised the famous "Annales" of the (thus fictional) Tacitus' to question (9). The equally famous Franco-German scholar Baron Georges Cuvier (1769-1832) in turn, postulated that humankind had been wiped out several times by devastating global disasters - a point of view that some of today's chronology critics still share.

An important contribution of more recent history was provided by the German Philology Professor Robert Baldauf from Basel. In his book "History and Criticism" published in1902 he says that "... the following important personages - separated by wide gaps of time: Homer, Aeschylus, Sophocles, Pindar, Aristotle - should be moved closer together. they are probably all children of a century. however, their home is certainly not the old Hellas, but the Italy of the 14th/15th Century - our Romans and Greeks were Italian humanists." (10)

He was followed by Wilhelm Kammeier who demonstrated, in three large works, that, the thousands of documents, register entries and chronicles could only have been literary inventions made up much later. The reason of which, amongst others, there are almost never any originals, and even these existing copies can often not be distinguished from the “original”, but are copies of copies. And as if this were not strange enough, only one preserved transcript-copy of each has been kept - of virtually all the major works of the ancient-world. For Kammeier it was clear, that that kind of effort, must have been practiced extendedly over several generations, and that only a well organised institution could have been behind anything of the sort - the only one in question being the centrally controlled Catholic Church.(11)

According to him, therefore, the great Vatican conspiracy did not lie in the fact that a dynasty founded by Jesus was being kept secret, as Dan Brown suggests in his bestseller "The Da Vinci Code", but in the complete rewriting of the history of mankind. As a matter of fact, even for orthodox historical science the idea that most of the old documents are forgeries is less controversial than expected. Accordingly a whole congress was dedicated to the subject of "forgery" in 1986 in Munich. The result was 3700 pages of records relating to forgeries! The accredited mediaevalist Carlrichard Bruehl said that "so far this is only the tip of the iceberg, of forgeries of the Middle Ages, having been read through" (12). All that was necessary for the complete rewriting of history was counterfeited. In addition to documents there are seals and coins, biographies and chronicles, annals, cargo lists, library catalogs, letters and more. However, it is particularly remarkable (in the view of conventional chronology) that some of these known forgeries did not unfurl their full effect until centuries later. In other words, either forgery had taken place in anticipation for the future, or the "works" are dated incorrectly.

Incidentally there are beautiful fakes on display in Berlin. Most, if not all, of the famous Pergamon Altar frieze is probably from the time in which it was found, that is in the 19th century.

The invention of people and stories and the back dating of documents, works of art, buildings, and relics can be considered as a side form or subspecies of forgery. Initiated by the Great Campaign, this was a process that ranged through several centuries. The recently deceased chronology reconstruction expert Eugene Gabowitsch describes the process as follows:

"After the conquest of Constantinople and the Roman dukedoms in Greece, in the 15th Century, the ancient world or Greco-Roman antiquity was gradually invented in Italy by the Ottomans. The first course for mythical chronology for the ancient world was set there too. In the following century these myths began to get arranged in proper order until S. Calvisius and J.J. Scaliger managed to put first extensive chronological tables together at the end of the century. German humanists and historians of the 17th and 18th Century systematised and deepened the description of this fictional era. Thus, these historians laid the foundation for the next generation of ancient world devotees; for those who, in the 19th Century, began to make the past two to three centuries of invented history in Greece reality. First of all they removed anything that did not suit their antiquity-taken minds, to chisel out a new ancient civilisation in stone. Then, the late medieval stately buildings and ruins were selected as ancient heritage and, by restoring and rebuilding them, they were brought into accordance with the scholarly notion of Greek antiquity. Thus, for example, the Church of the Holy Virgin Mary Mother of God (Parthenos) was turned into the pagan temple Parthenon."

The C14-Crash

However, hasn’t the previous chronology been supported by archeological scientific dating methods? And: hasn’t it been repeatedly confirmed?

As a matter of fact, the methods of age-determination are much worse than is their reputation. Thus, for the radiocarbon method (also called C14 method) even under ideal conditions, the error rate is high, rendering it unsuitable as an objective dating tool - as the physicists Christian Blöss and Hans-Ullrich Niemitz established in detail, already in 1997. The title of their book, "C14-Crash" reflects their discovery.(13)

Dendrology is not much better. To be able to assign a time period to growth-ring sequences, they must be aligned with C-14 data. Thus, both methods support each other, rendering both a classical vicious circle.

As so often happens in science, this does not, in the least, bother those who hold a chair. The book, as well as a follow-up work, ripping apart the other dating-methods (ice cores, thermo-luminescence), are largely ignored by the guild of archaeologists and historians. This is to some extent, understandable. For, simply by considering the possibility of a mega-disaster in the recent past, one is challenging the dating methods, seeing as they are based essentially on the "continuity hypothesis" on the presupposition of a continuous development - thus without any violent traumatic events from the outside. If the C14 results are wrong, however, the entire chronology of world history is raised to [called into] question - which is an even greater disaster than the former one to the current ruling experts, because it threatens to have them lose their expert status.

According to some of the `scrutinizers`, a number of such events must have taken place in the past millennia. Close transits, or even larger cosmic objects triggered not only floods and volcanic eruptions, moved continents, destroyed islands and influenced the global climate, but could have also changed the angle of the Earth's axis to the path of the sun, or at least probably influenced the “spin”, the so-called precession.

"No matter how ingenious an array of ideas can be, no matter how subtly calculations can be made, there is no way around the fact– and we should keep ourselves free from standardised-evolutionist or faith-related interpretations – that the earth’s position in its orbit around the sun currently occupies a completely different one, to the position mentioned in the celestial observations of the author of the Almagest Star Catalogue." says Christoph Marx, referring to the famous Ptolemy. Heribert Illig who became known for his book „Das erfundene Mittelalter“ ("The Imaginary Middle Ages,") notes that, of the 250 solar eclipses passed down from the Ancient World, 240 of them could not, according to current calculations, have occurred. (14)

If this in turn is true, then the pet of apocalyptic mysticism, the "Mayan Calendar", at least in terms of a precisely-dated end, would lose its validity, because an end requires a precisely datable starting point! Meanwhile it is based, just like the C14 method on the assumption of continuity. While C14 gets knocked out due to leaps in the carbon concentration (which inevitably causes a mega-disaster), thus any change in the velocity of the rotation of the earth, any tilt of angle or any change in precession of the earth’s axis, now renders the synchronisation of the Maya calendar with the Christian calendar impossible. In other words, because the probability is minimal, that these parameters have remained constant during the last 5,000 years, it is also very unlikely that the Maya timeline is synchronised correctly with our era.

All the same, even assuming (the unlikely) continuity, the information on astronomical data contained in the Maya manuscripts are hardly suited to determine the exact day zero! The "calculation" tends to be rather a mixture of interpretation and correlation, logically causing the corresponding results to differ by up to 260 years.

One of the most compelling observations to come by on this topic, in the past few years, was made by Bohumil and Vladimir Böhm. The Czech brothers did deduce after all a difference of 104 years for the New Age, thus correlating with Goodman / Martínez / Thompson, who indicate the year 3112 BC as the starting point; the most favored theory in the esoteric scene. (15)

Therefore the end (or beginning) in this case, is not nigh! In any case these are most likely just theoretical calculations, which we might as well make do without unless and until, scope and duration of a massive "disorder" are not known.

However, a different "calculation" can be useful: According to the German physicist, to Hartmut Müller’s Global Scaling theory, (16) event clusters periodically take place in linear time, resulting in the impression that time itself is pulsating. Some of these periods or frequencies are so fundamental that they appear virtually everywhere in the universe. It speaks in favour of the Maya, seeing that they obviously were aware of these cycles, of which at least three of them also appear on the Tzolkin: the thirteen so-called tones (or days), the twenty so-called seals and the product of two: 260 - all significant figures that describe cycles also in the global scaling system, in the form of nodes of oscillation.

Assuming that in 2012 we shall be expecting a significant leap in cycle, on that basis it is therefore possible to calculate the presumable moment of an event of similar impact in the past. This is what the "global-scaler” Pauqué Matthias did: thus a 2012-like accumulation of events would have had its culminating point in the exact year 1265 of the Christian calendar. For, according to Global Scaling, these 747 years represent, on the logarithmic timeline, a so-called main hub, around which events crowd massively (17). However, only very indirect statements about the quality and seriousness of the events can be derived from the theory. A main hub on the timeline does not automatically mean a cosmic disaster or the like, at least not to our present knowledge. But it is clear that such "event clusters" would create chaos and confusion through the reactions towards them – out of which in turn something new would resume.

Too daft?

In the specialised literature, one finds, starting with Hanns Hörbiger’s "Cosmic Ice Theory" on Immanuel Velikowskys "Worlds in Collision" right through to the numerous publications of recent researchers like Uwe Topper, Christoph Marx, Gunnar Heinsohn and others, at least three major events, which are supposed to have duly shaken the earth. „Der letzte große Ruck” (“The last big push"), of which an article by Uwe Topper bears an identical title, must have taken place about 700 years ago, when a larger piece of a planet’s remains sped up through the solar system and found its own orbit. We now call it Mercury. According to Topper, it was this planet which made the Gregorian calendar reform of 1582 necessary, and by no means the insufficient knowledge of the ancient astronomers, as today's science claims. By the way: as the chronology critic and calendar expert Werner Frank discovered, a debate, as to whether 10, 13 or even 15 days were to be skipped or not, was open before the calendar reform - which clearly speaks against the doctrine of a continuous error that is said to have summed up to 10 days in previous centuries. (18)

The clerical forgers and their "Great Campaign" are of course not the only ones to blame for the extensive collective total repression of such disasters, This action, in its entirety, should rather be understood as the work of the "PRS-Amnesia-machine" - this at least is the opinion of the members of the “Society for the Reconstruction of Human and Natural History" mentioned earlier on, along with its mastermind Christoph Marx. PRS stands for the "Great thought systems of Philosophies, Religions, and (public and esoteric) Sciences." Once one has had a closer look at the role the mechanisms of these systems play, which even reflects the nature of human consciousness, one will find it hard to disagree.

The historian and journalist Ralph Davidson observes a different nexus. To begin with, in his book "The Civilizing Process," he finds it "… surprising that Greek-Roman antiquity, is still being held for reality today. And that so many intelligent people are involved in amplifying this fiction ... is probably because " the German-Italian speculates, " ... every scholar has an overview of only one small part of the fiction. And also because historical science is so highly based on division of labor, that individuals would be overwhelmed to question the overall picture critically.

Of course, possibly, we might just be too stupid and constantly fail through our own stupidity, as Matt Hone recently observed in the daily DIE WELT.” (19)

And indeed, the world is, yet again, steering towards its next "failure" for it is beyond question that fundamental changes shall take place in the near future. Only it is still written in the stars just how these changes will manifest themselves if they do happen, when exactly they will take place, and whether they will originate from an extraterrestrial event (for which there is at least some good reason to believe so, even though the information is not particularly reliable), or not. This is probably good, because it challenges us to keep the really important issues, life and death, in conscious focus, without being in a kind of shock. This also means to accept the extraordinary challenges that might arise in association with chaos and violence connected with the cycle jump. Such transitions are usually bifurcations, thus crossroads or points of separation, through which a system adopts several new trends, and takes different paths of development. This makes it necessary for a considerable amount of people, who are clear and strong enough, to give most of the others the necessary impetus to take the "right direction". This "right direction" has, from time immemorial, remained the same. One can describe it in two words: more awareness.
